Uncontrolled Nukes

Power and Control (M.Simon) has some personal insight into the nuclear proliferation problem as well as a lot of good links. He suggests that we have already armed a number of our allies. There also is an intriguing, evidently knowledgeable, anonymous comment that explains the nature of the plutonium shipments we have made.

M.Simon was inspired by another good piece, a column in Tech Central Station by James Pinkerton, explaining why proliferation is unstoppable. Pinkerton quotes Lewis Mumford on that inevitability, saying that people couldn't help themselves when it came to runaway technological development. He also graces us with a Babylon5 reference, "The avalanche has already started. It is too late for pebbles to vote."
